Happy Easter!

Today, on this Good Friday, we want to take a moment and wish you and your family a very Happy Easter.

It's important, even in this period of isolation and social distancing, to remember to take to celebrate and give thanks. We pray that you and your loved ones are well.

As we move from the cross of Good Friday toward the empty Tomb of Easter, I am encouraged by the words spoken at the tomb that Resurrection morning and the response of the women who had gone to prepare his body for burial found in Matthew's gospel.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you." So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy.

This passage tells us that even when times seem most bleak, there can still be cause for joy and hope. In the darkness that we find ourselves in currently, there is light yet to come. And just as the women at the tomb felt that morning, it's alright to be afraid and filled with joy at the same time. I'm sure many of you feel that way today, and that's OK.

As we move through this Easter season that is unlike any in our recent memory, take time to connect with those close to you and find ways to experience and deepen your joy.

Stay well!
